Sopheak and F were born and grew up in Buddhist families but the Lord saved them. Not long after, their parents and other family members also became followers of Jesus. Sopheak and F have three children–Bethanee, Emmanuel, and Benjamin. Since F is Thai and Sopheak is Khmer/Cambodian, their three kids are growing up trilingual: Thai, Khmer and English. Their family represents God's unconditional love: throughout history and even today, there's been conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, but the Soeung family shows God's unity instead of the world's divisions.
In Cambodia, only 2% of their population is Christian, therefore most of the 17 million Cambodians have not heard the Gospel or yet decided to follow Christ. Both Sopheak and F believe that the gifts they have from the Lord can lead many to believe in Jesus Christ.
Sopheak’s primary ministry is youth discipleship through sports, and he has recruited local people to serve alongside him to draw young adults and teens to Christ.
F is gifted in mentoring and sharing the Gospel, and she served at churches In Thailand for a few years before God called her to Cambodia. Because so many were coming to F for answers to their personal and family problems, F studied play therapy and counseling in Thailand to support and enhance her ministry. Neighbors and kids open their hearts to F, and she is able to use her talents to share Jesus and nurture growth in his followers.
Through their lives, the Soeungs have touched many lives around them, in Cambodia, Thailand and beyond.
Novo is a band of creative missionaries sent to multiply movements of the gospel and mobilize the church for mission around the world.
